Development of Early Mark Making
Children work on pre-writing mark making before developing letter formation
At 12 Months a child will start to become interested in pencils, crayons etc. they may make random marks
The first stage of drawing is about exploring and developing motor skills
At around 15 to 18 months babies begin to doodle and will then go on to develop purposeful mark making
